Trudy Turner as your new MLA for Riel --

Put Trudy Turner to work for you!

I'd like to go to work for you. Here's Why:

A Passion for Riel

Riel is a wonderfully diverse community with a unique set of needs and issues.

Options for Young People

As the mother of two young adults, I understand the concerns of Riel parents. We want a safe community in which to raise our children. We need an education system with the resources to see our youth thrive. We want our children to have career options that allow them to stay in Manitoba - and build lives with our future grandchildren!

Housing for Seniors

Seniors in Riel have told me of their desire to remain in our community - staying close to family and friends. We can make that happen. We can look at creative housing options- like the South St. Vital Senior's Village that provides additional levels of care without requiring seniors to move each time their needs change.

A Healthy Business Climate

In Manitoba, independent businesses provide 70% of available jobs. Through my economic development work with BIZ associations, I know we need to create a climate where these employers can thrive and develop more opportunities for Manitobans.

Experience and Commitment

A graduate of Glenlawn Collegiate, I spent many years working in the area as Provincial Director for the Terry Fox Foundation and as Executive Director of the Old St. Vital BIZ. I have served as President of the Windsor Parent Council, as board member for the South Family Y Daycare, and as a member of both the Safety in South St. Vital Committee and the Y Expansion Team.

I have the experience, the passion and the commitment to work with you as your MLA to accomplish the goals of our community.

Together, We Can Do Better

Like me, perhaps you question the way the current NDP government is dealing with Manitoba's most pressing concerns - lots of talk; little action.

  • Why are we still just talking about and not taking action to protect our lakes and water?
  • Why are we more nervous than ever in our own homes and neighbourhoods?
  • Why are young people leaving Manitoba by the tens of thousands?
  • Why are patients still lying in hallways?
  • Where are the repairs to our crumbling streets and bridges?

After seven years, don't you think it's time to elect someone new - someone with new ideas and a fresh approach? Think about it! Imagine Hugh McFadyen as Manitoba's next Premier.

Hugh believes in the power of teamwork - a lesson he learned as a champion curler. In partnership with Manitobans, he would like the opportunity to help bring us together in a team so strong that we will once again be a province restored to full confidence - in ourselves and in our future.

Together, Hugh McFadyen believes we can and will do better!
